Dale Rogers is the Foundation Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the Director of the Center for Logistics Management at the University of Nevada. He is also the chairman of the Reverse Logistics Executive Council (www.rlec.org), a professional organization devoted to the improvement of reverse logistics practices. He is the leader of the sustainable supply chain research project currently underway at the University of Nevada. (www.sustainable-supplychain.com) Dr. Rogers is the former cochairman of the RFID Users’ Group, an organization researching the utilization RFID technologies in the supply chain. In 2001, he was the Paper Foundation Visiting Eminent Scholar Chair of Logistics at the University of North Florida.

Dr. Rogers is a frequent speaker on topics such as: reverse logistics, logistics and supply chain strategy, e-business, third party logistics, logistics management, supply chain management. He has made over 200 presentations to professional organizations and has served as a faculty member for numerous executive programs at the University of Nevada, The Ohio State University, Stanford University, University of California at Berkeley, Michigan State University, University of North Florida, University of Alaska Anchorage, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Genco Reverse Logistics Conference, Maringa State University, Brazil, UPS, Young President’s Organization, FedEx, Unisys, International Transportation and Logistics, SITL, National Association of Purchasing Management.

Dr. Rogers has been a consultant to several companies including Kenco Logistics, Hewlett-Packard, Coca-Cola, IBM, Russell Athletic, Accenture, Flextronics, FedEx, UPS, Menlo Logistics, Genco Logistics, Sun Microsystems, Advanced Micro Devices, Mitchell & Ness, Kmart, Maersk Logistics, Handspring, Unisys Corporation and several others. Dr. Rogers has been principal investigator on research grants from numerous organizations.

Prior to entering academia, Dale worked as a Project Director and Director of Marketing for a logistics consulting and software company. He has also been employed in material management and manufacturing at the Harris Corporation, and as an instructor with the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors. In 1994 while working as a professor at the University of Nevada, Dr. Rogers was the Director of Customer Service for the Non-Carbonated Beverages Division of the Coca-Cola Company.

His current research interests are focused on: reverse logistics and returns, supply chain technologies, e-business supply chain management, and supply chain management.

Dale has published in several logistics journals and is a co-author of the book Supply Chain Management: Processes Partnerships Performance and Going Backwards: Reverse Logistics Trends and Practices, and two previous books on logistics.
