He has published over 300 articles and papers on the service industry in publications such as the Journal of the Association of Field Service Managers, Computer/Electronics Service News, Micro service Management, Data Communications Magazine, Chilton’s Instrumentation and Control Systems Magazine, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technology, The American Management Association Journal, Electronic Business, and The Professional Journal. Donald Blumberg has also written a book, Managing Service as a Strategic Profit Center (published by McGraw-Hill), which is the culmination of his 40 years of experience in the industry. It has been acclaimed by service professionals as the essential guide to running a service business.
Blumberg has also lectured extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Far East on topics related to service. He is often a speaker for the professional organizations to which he belongs, including the Association for Field Service Managers International (AFSMI), the National Association of Service Managers (NASM), the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), the Independent Service Network International (ISNI), and many others.
Blumberg has earned the Certified Management Consultant accreditation from the Institute of Management Consultants. In addition, he has received the Patton Service Publication Awards for Best Book and Best Article, and the Dr. S.B. Ross Award for distinguished achievement in the service industry.
