Dr. Håkan Torstensson earned his doctoral degree in 1979 at the Division of Mechanical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. He is currently a tenured professor in transport safety and logistics at the School of Engineering at the University College of Borås, after having worked several years in various management and project leading positions at the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute and the maritime consulting and research company SSPA Sweden. His research interests are safety and security, quality, product and system integrity and information science, applied to mechanical and logistics systems.
