
Mr Verhagen joined DHL in 1996 as logistics consultant being responsible for on-boarding DHL's first pan EMEA SPL customer EMC2 and selling SPL solutions to e.g. Tandem Computers, Lucent and Silicon Graphics. Moved to Asia in January 2000 to set up DHL's SPL organization and capability in Asia Pacific, building a €70m regional business from scratch. Moved back to the EMEA region to take on responsibility for the EMEA SPL organization in 2003, turning around stagnating growth. Took on the role of Global Head of Technology for DHL Solutions in 2005 before moving back into the service logistics business in 2006 within his current role.
Prior to DHL, Mr Verhagen spent four years in various logistics management functions with Philips Corporate Forwarding and Philips Sound & Vision in The Netherlands. He started his professional career as Logistics Business Development Manager with the Rotterdam-based shipping company Van Uden.
Mr Verhagen holds an Engineering Degree in Logistics Management and Production Logistics and a Bachelors Degree in Transport Economics.
