Mr. Gullo joined the Postal Service's Product Development group as the Manager of Ground Packages in November 2006. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Manager of Business Mailer Support where he directed a group of 24 field analysts. His team was responsible for assisting mailers with the implementation of specialized postage payment systems designed to document and report postage for complex mailing operations.

John has been instrumental in key strategies to enhance mail acceptance activities. He led the development of the Electronic Verification System, a seamless acceptance initiative designed to support destination entry parcel shippers. He was also a key strategist for the Postal Service reverse logistics programs including implementation of Parcel Return Service, an initiative that provides retailers with a better way to receive customer returns. Mr. Gullo developed and executed the Postal Service's highly successful free Carrier Pickup program that allows postal customers to schedule a pickup of prepaid packages online at USPS.com. John remains influential in shaping the Postal Service's ongoing efforts to maximize business opportunities and partnerships that support market growth in package services.

Prior to his work in Customer Service, John developed and implemented several national programs including the Postal Business Centers in 1991, the Customer One System (national account management database) in 1995, and the Delivery Confirmation™ service offering in 1999.

Mr. Gullo has been with the Postal Service for over 29 years. He started his career in the Western New York District where he worked for 18 years. John started his career as a letter distribution clerk and then moved into the technical field, first as an electronic technician and then as an Automation Readability Specialist. Prior to leaving Western New York, he managed the Postal Business Centers in Buffalo & Rochester, NY.
