Marisa P. de Brito is an Associate Researcher at the Department of Mobility Studies, OTB, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. She is engaged both in research and teaching in the areas of sustainable supply chain management and reverse logistics.

Marisa was member of RevLog, a EU-sponsored project and one of the first European groups working on reverse logistics and is now a regular participant in the US-European Closed Loop Supply Chain workshops. She has published theoretical and empirical work on the value of information and on reverse logistics planning (including return handling in mail-order-companies, store chains, and supermarkets and spare parts reverse logistics in a refinery).

Recently she was involved with a major research project on the sustainability of the Textile and Clothing sector in the U.K, at the University of Cambridge, UK. Currently, she is working on a EU-project on the lifecycle of aviation systems and on two national projects: one on managing and maintenance of large transport service providers and other on the reverse logistics of maritime containers, where the value of information and technology investment is looked at.

Marisa has a Master degree in Statistics and Operations Research from the University of Lisbon, a Master in Urban Management from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and a PhD in the area of Reverse Logistics also from EUR.
