Mike Champion is the founder, president and principal owner of Return Products Management, Inc. (RPM). Mike has served the transportation and logistics field in various capacities for the past 30 years. After studying Civil Engineering at MIT, he spent 7 years as an over-the-road truck driver before becoming a dockworker for Yellow Freight System in 1978. He joined Yellow’s management team as a road dispatcher in 1983, and later served as line haul coordinator, central dispatch coordinator, and system development coordinator. During this time he led development of numerous computer-aided decision support applications. In 1994 Mike was recruited to manage returns programs for Yellow Logistics Services (YLS). When Yellow closed YLS in 1995, Mike started his own company to further develop the reverse logistics concept. Since then Return Products Management, Inc. has become a respected provider of consolidated return programs for heavy-duty truck manufacturers. The company operates return centers in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and Memphis, Tennessee. It also operates a call center and has its headquarters in Olathe, Kansas.
