Paul Clapham, European Parts Operations Director, Canon Europa NV

Panelist - Reverse Logistics Conference & Expo

Panel - "WEEE & RoHS Impact on OEMs & 3PSPs " - Amsterdam 2006

Paul has worked in the aftermarket service industry since 1972. He started his career by gaining some practical front line experience of field service with Rank Xerox before joining Canon UK in 1976. Within Canon UK he held a variety of roles including the management of Training, Technical Support, Service Marketing, Service Planning, Parts operations and finally as the head of the UK Service Operations.

Paul transferred to Canon Europe in October 2000 to lead and transform the European Service Parts Business activities, optimising the after sales parts supply for the total range of business machine and photo products distributed by Canon in EMEA.

Canon Europe has undertaken a number of key projects in order to enable and support the Service Parts supply chain transformation, including the implementation of a new Pan European Parts Logistics Structure (PEPLS) involving both major IT system changes as well as warehouse infrastructure and organisation.

His key challenges are to provide the high fill rates required by the service organisations through centralised inventory planning, reducing excess inventory and creating a clear structure of Central / Satellite distribution warehouses within the territory.

Paul is British but now lives and works in the Netherlands.
