Mr. Cervantez specializes in securities, capital structure planning, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, venture financing and licensing transactions for emerging growth companies, venture funds, and software and hardware computer companies.

Education: Mr. Cervantez received his Bachelor's in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University in 1986. Mr. Cervantez earned a JD from Harvard Law School and a MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992.

Professional Qualifications, Memberships and Activities: Mr. Cervantez recently joined the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in January 2004, www.dwt.com . Mr. Cervantez co-founded the high-technology boutique Britton Silberman & Cervantez, LLP as a partner from November 1997 until that firm was acquired by Thelen Reid & Priest LLP in June 2000. Prior to that Mr. Cervantez practiced law at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro and Cooley Godward.

Mr. Cervantez has been involved with several ventures at an operating level. He co-founded several successful companies including Geonet Communications, a San Francisco ISP (acquired by Level 3 Communications), and Globalnet Ventures, an e-commerce focused investment banking firm. He has also worked as general counsel of a venture capital fund and as an Examiner with the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for the securities law regulatory oversight of more than 60 investment banks.

In addition, Mr. Cervantez is active in the angel and venture community, acting as the co-chair of the Venture Finance SIG of Software Development Forum, a trade association for the software industry, co-chair of the Golden Gate Angels, an angel investor group based in San Francisco, and chairman of the San Francisco chapter of the International Angel Investor Institute.

Mr. Cervantez advises US companies expanding into foreign markets, and non-US companies seeking investment or product distribution in the US. He is on the Advisory Boards for the U.S.-Japan Business Incubation Center and the Queensland (Australia) Government Trade and Investment Office. He is also outside counsel for ANZA Technology Networks, an Australian / New Zealand high-technology trade association in Silicon Valley.
