
In his organizational management work, Mr. Borges designs and implements highly successful solutions tailored to the unique strategic, tactical and operations issues facing rapidly growing and crisis-plagued technical organizations. Notable beneficiaries of this work include regional healthcare systems, a Malcolm-Baldrige-Award-winning Silicon Valley medical imaging equipment manufacturer, and a major West Coast military base. He is the author of Performance Improvement for Healthcare Managers, 2005.
In his technical field, corporate environmental sustainability, he has successfully directed more than 100 sustainability, public policy assessment, environmental research and analysis, and pollution-control projects. As a principal environmental scientist, he initiated and directed the sustainability consulting practice and Asia market-entry program at Midwest Research Institute, operator of the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory. In that role, he wrote Planning the Creation and Implementation of World Standard Environmental Management Systems, published jointly by the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Midwest Research Institute.
As an educator, Mr. Borges teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses at the University of Phoenix in strategic planning, CI-based performance improvement, change management, organizational behavior, international business, general business management, project management, and an MBA program capstone class. In collaboration with the University of California Irvine's Paul Merage Business School, he led efforts to design a transformational medical executive MBA program. He also developed short-courses on corporate turnarounds for the University of Nevada, Reno, Executive Extension Program.
He has served as an examiner for a state-level Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program. And, just for the fun of it, he was a judge at this year's Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
Mr. Borges is listed in previous and current editions of Marquis': Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Business and Finance, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the West.
He holds an MBA and a bachelor's degree in geography with an environmental management emphasis.
